Hide the database from the internet
The DB and Redis — in the private network only, with no public IPs. An attacker can't attack what isn't visible from the internet.
Multi-tier architecture
LB (public) → apps (private network) → DB (a separate private subnet). Each tier sees only the adjacent one.
Separating environments
Prod, staging and dev — in separate networks: a test stand physically can't reach the production database.
